Cheap Paleo at Big Lots + 20% off Coupon!

I don’t go to Big Lots for too many things, but I always make it in for their 20% off Friends & Family sale. It’s exactly what it sounds like… 20% off everything at Big Lots on top of their already-discounted prices! You can print the coupon here, but when I went into the store, they had plenty of coupons sitting at the register. Hurry! It ends today 7/10! There were some great cheap Paleo food items that I wanted to share with you. Here are a few things that I found during my Big Lots trip:

Cheap Paleo #1: Dang Coconut Chips (Savory Bacon) $1.25

dang coconut chips savory bacon imageLet me just start by saying… I love these things! They’re crunchy and has a great texture. It satisfies your craving for potato chips and makes a great Paleo snack. No bad oils here: the only oil listed is coconut oil (not soybean or canola oil). Also, it has very plain and clear ingredients with the most questionable being “bacon flavor” listed towards the end of the ingredient list. Whether or not you follow the Paleo diet, you should try it!  I ended up paying $1 per bag with the additional 20% discount. If this isn’t cheap Paleo, I don’t know what is! Quantities were extremely limited but I snagged eight bags of these. I’ll be sad when I run out because I’ll have to pay $4 per bag again so I’ll definitely savor it!

Cheap Paleo #2: Butcher Boy Coconut Oil $4

butcher boy organic coconut oil imageI go to Big Lots maybe 4 to 6 times per year. They always seem to have Butcher Boy Coconut Oil so it might be something they carry year round at a great price. This brand of coconut oil is non-GMO verified, which is another plus. Anyway, their plain old Butcher Boy starts at $4 and the organic virgin unrefined starts at $5 at a smaller size.  With 20% off, I think we can officially call this cheap Paleo! It’s funny because I just bought some virgin organic coconut oil from Home Goods last week but when things are a good price, I’ll stock up my pantry. The size I got is 15 ounces for $5 for the organic unrefined ($4 after discount). Not bad! They had monster gallon sizes too if you are cuckoo for coconut oil.

Cheap Paleo #3: Real Coco Organic Coconut Water $3

real coco organic 100% coconut water imageSo apparently, Cheap Paleo #3 is yet another coconut product! I love coconut. 🙂 Usually, I get organic coconut water for about $3 on sale at Whole Foods or elsewhere, but you just can’t beat it with an extra 20% off. This is the second time I’ve seen this product at Big Lots, so I’m hoping this will make a regular appearance there. It’s nice to pick up something like this without hunting for a sale, or buying at full price when I can’t find a deal. I use mine to make green smoothies in my Ninja blender and I prefer it to coconut and almond milk. It also makes a nice little beverage when you’re tired of water. Real Coco is certified organic which is also a major plus in my book. Yay coconut water!

Cheap Paleo #4: Organic Jasmine Tea $1.50

Signature Tea Co Jasmine Tea ImageI love things that come in cute little boxes, and the Nightfall Jasmine Tea by Signature Tea Company comes in a tin box. It’s a major steal at $1.50 so I had to mention it here. My boyfriend is a big tea fan and we got a ton of tea at Big Lots yesterday, but this one is probably my favorite. I’ve seen this in a different packaging for about $4.50 in the past so with $3 off plus 20% off, we got a few tins of these. They had tons of other organic tea in all kinds of flavors, so make sure you stroll down the tea aisle when you get to Big Lots!

Consistently Low Prices at Big Lots

Even if you miss the 20% off Friends & Family sale, it’s worth checking out Big Lots if you’ve never been. I was a bit snobby about it in the past, but my last few visits there were pretty good. They have some good cooking oils at great prices, international foods, and lately, they have been selling more organic groceries. As a new Paleo girl, buying high quality Paleo friendly foods is really important to me and Big Lots has consistently low prices which helps when I don’t have time to hunt for sales and deals.

This is one of those your-mileage-will-vary types of scenarios, since Big Lots’ selection will differ by region. While you may not find everything I did, you will probably find other great Paleo products that I couldn’t find at my local store. The sale ends today so go to Big Lots for some cheap paleo goodies and lots of other stuff store wide! Happy deal hunting, and may the odds be ever in your favor! (Sorry, I couldn’t help the cheesy Hunger Games reference!)
